Nineteen of the Russian's 21 titles have been achieved on hard surfaces

A resurgent the Russian player secured his first trophy for nearly 30 months with victory over Corentin Moutet in the competition final.

The athlete, a former world number one, has had a difficult year, managing just one win at the big events and experiencing a setback at the US Open.

The player's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serve in especial - led to him exiting of the world's top 10 and eventually separating with long-time coach Gilles Cervara.

Currently collaborating with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently advanced in the recent weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over challenger Moutet.

This marks the player's maiden title since the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard court from March of the previous year.

Success also indicates he has secured twenty-one titles at 21 different tournaments.

"This marks the first occasion I'm at a competition with my both daughters together, so to secure a championship is especially meaningful," said ranked player the champion.

"This title is in dedication of my younger daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I got when my child Alisa was born was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had been defeated in his last six championship matches, featuring in the German tournament previously this season.

Medvedev's counter-punching approach and recurring outbursts on the playing surface had prompted some to doubt if his skill to play at the elite level was concluded.

But the athlete has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, attempting to approach the net and perform assertively, backed up by an enhanced serve.

Medvedev came back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the difficult Frenchman, taking four of the concluding five games to gain the advantage.

The pair swapped break points in the middle set before the Frenchman, striving for his maiden professional title, gained dominance to push for a final set.

The opponent rescued 4 initial opportunities in a close final set before Medvedev won the break to fifteen to serve for the match.

Appropriately, the winner secured victory with a shot at the front of the court, with his opponent incapable to handle a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
